Uses:1,4-Butanediol is an important organic chemical and fine chemical raw material, mainly used to produce polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) engineering plastics and fibers. It is also a key raw material for producing tetrahydrofuran, which after polymerization gives polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG), used in the production of high-elasticity spandex fibers. Its downstream product gamma-butyrolactone can be further converted into 2-pyrrolidone, N-methylpyrrolidone and other high-value-added products, widely used in pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
