Uses:Used as a precursor for rare-earth-doped functional materials, particularly for erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) and laser gain media. Also employed as a lanthanide catalyst in organic synthesis and as a coloring and brightening component in specialty glass and ceramics.
