Its composition closely resembles the natural saccharide complex in the stratum corneum, giving it excellent skin affinity. It binds firmly to keratin and ε-amino functional groups in the skin like a magnet, retaining moisture like a reservoir, with moisturizing effects lasting until the natural shedding of the stratum corneum. It provides good skin moisture regulation and is soluble in water.
