Physical Properties:White to off-white crystalline powder. Density approx. 0.94 g/cm³. Melting point approx. 235°C (decomposition). Readily soluble in water, soluble in methanol, ethanol and other polar organic solvents, insoluble in ether and petroleum ether. Hygroscopic. Aqueous solution is neutral to slightly acidic.
Uses:Used as a cationic surfactant, bactericide, antistatic agent and fabric softener. It can also be used as a phase transfer catalyst in organic synthesis, and is widely applied in water treatment, oilfield chemicals and daily chemical fields.
