Easily hydrolyzed into glycerol and acetic acid in the presence of caustic alkalis and inorganic acids. Molecular weight: approx. 218.21.
Uses:This product is mainly used as an organic ester hardener for sodium silicate self-hardening sand in foundry production, enabling the sand mold to self-harden at room temperature without drying after demolding. This application offers advantages such as high casting dimensional accuracy, small machining allowance, good collapsibility, low gas evolution, and low production energy consumption. In addition, it is used as a plasticizer for cellulose resins and vinyl polymers, a fragrance fixative, and a solvent, as well as in food packaging and cosmetics.
