Insoluble in water; soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, ethanol, acetone, halogenated hydrocarbons and other organic solvents. Good thermal stability and weatherability; the molecule contains three allyl groups offering high reactivity.
Uses:TAIC is mainly used as a crosslinking co-agent for thermoplastic plastics such as polyethylene and EVA, as well as for acrylic and styrene-type ion exchange resins. It serves as a co-vulcanizing agent for special rubbers including chlorinated polyethylene, EPDM, fluoro rubber and silicone rubber. As a modifier for polyacrylates, unsaturated polyester, epoxy resins and DAP resins, it significantly improves heat resistance, weatherability, mechanical strength and processability. It is also used as an intermediate for polyester fiber-rubber adhesion, UV-curable coatings, photoresists and flame retardants, with high-end applications as a crosslinker for EVA solar encapsulant films.
