The maximum UV absorption wavelength (λmax) varies with pH, approximately 280 nm under acidic conditions and 272 nm under alkaline conditions. It is stable in the dry state and should be stored sealed, protected from light, at low temperature.
Uses:It is a core biochemical reagent in nucleic acid chemistry and molecular biology, serving as a substrate for the chemical synthesis of oligonucleotides and for DNA polymerase-catalyzed reactions. In biomedical research, it is widely used in the elucidation of DNA synthesis and repair mechanisms, and nucleotide metabolic pathways, as well as in the development of antiviral and antitumor nucleoside analog drugs. It can also be used as a cell culture medium additive and as a standard for enzymatic analysis.
