Uses:This product is a thiazolidinedione insulin sensitizer and a selective agonist of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ). It activates PPARγ to regulate the transcription of insulin-responsive genes, enhances peripheral glucose uptake and utilization, and improves insulin resistance. It is used clinically for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, either as monotherapy or in combination with metformin, sulfonylureas, or other glucose-lowering agents.
