Uses:Used as a solvent, extractant and reference standard for chromatographic analysis. It dissolves oils, fats, waxes and resins, and is used in the wet-spinning acrylic fiber process for extracting sodium thiocyanate, dewaxing paraffin-based oils, extracting nicotine from tobacco, and widely in organic synthesis.
