Uses:Used as an organic synthesis intermediate. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to synthesize antispasmodic phloroglucinol preparations. It is also employed as an analytical reagent for colorimetric determination of lignin and furfural, and as a raw material in the dye and printing industries.
