Physical Properties:White crystalline powder, odorless, slightly bitter taste. Melting point approximately 330℃ (decomposes); density about 1.77 g/cm³. Slightly soluble in water; insoluble in cold ethanol, ether, acetone and other organic solvents; soluble in hot sulfuric acid, caustic alkali solutions and ammonia water. Thermal decomposition releases toxic cyanic acid fumes.
Uses:Mainly used in the synthesis of trichloroisocyanuric acid, sodium dichloroisocyanurate and other chlorinated isocyanurate disinfectants and water treatment chemicals. Also employed in the manufacture of cyanuric acid resins, coatings, adhesives, crosslinking agents and plastic stabilizers, with applications in textiles, papermaking, daily chemicals and related industries.
