Uses:It is an organic synthesis intermediate and solvent, used as an intermediate in pesticides such as imidacloprid and acetamiprid, for synthesis of 3-methylpyridine-N-oxide. In pharmaceutical industry, it is used to produce vitamin B6, nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, nikethamide and cardiac agents; also used as a dye intermediate, resin intermediate, rubber vulcanization accelerator, insecticide, waterproofing agent and film sensitizer additive.
