Physical Properties:Colorless fine crystals or white crystalline powder; odorless or with a slight characteristic and scorched odor. Sparingly soluble in water, freely soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and other organic solvents. Melting point: 48~51°C.
Uses:Used as a preservative and antimicrobial agent. It is particularly effective for beer preservation, inhibiting spoilage caused by yeast and Lactobacillus at a concentration of 8-12 ppm, with a dosage much lower than butylparaben.
