Physical Properties:Colorless transparent liquid, volatile, with a pleasant fruity odor. Slightly soluble in water, miscible with ethanol, diethyl ether and other organic solvents. Density approx. 0.917 g/cm³, boiling point approx. 54°C, flash point -20°C (closed cup), flammable.
Uses:Mainly used as a solvent for cellulose acetate or cellulose nitrate. Widely applied in the formulation of fruit-type flavors such as cherry, apricot, peach, strawberry, apple, pineapple, banana and grape, as well as wine-type flavors including rum, brandy, whisky and white wine. Also used in daily-use flavors and pharmaceutical production.
