Physical Properties:White to light yellow powder or granules with a characteristic amide wax odor. Insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol, acetone, toluene and other organic solvents. Melting point 118–125 °C, flash point >270 °C.
Uses:This product has excellent lubricity and can be used as a release agent for plastics and rubber, improving the performance of crayons, petroleum products, inks, asphalt and textiles. As a corrosion inhibitor, it forms an adsorption film on metal surfaces for protection. Adding to coatings, enamels, varnishes and lacquers improves chemical resistance. It is also used as an intermediate for textile emulsifiers, softeners and durable water repellents, as well as a brightener and dispersant in masterbatch production. It complies with US FDA regulations for use in food-contact plastics.
