Relative density approximately 0.993 g/cm³, boiling point 151-153°C, flash point approximately 37°C. Prone to oxidation upon exposure to air; should be stored sealed and protected from light.
Uses:Primarily used as an organic synthesis intermediate for the preparation of sulfonyl chlorides, thiols, thioethers and other sulfur-containing compounds. In the rubber industry, it serves as a vulcanizing agent and reclaiming agent. It is also used as a fuel additive, metal surface treatment agent, and extreme-pressure additive in lubricating oils. In fine chemicals, it acts as a sulfurizing reagent in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and pesticides.
