Physical Properties:White or off-white waxy solid with a slight fatty odor. Melting point 55-60°C, relative density 0.96. Insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol, diethyl ether, chloroform and other organic solvents. It exhibits excellent emulsifying, dispersing and solubilizing properties and is a nonionic surfactant.
Uses:Used as a pearlescent agent and thickener in cosmetics, imparting a pearl-like luster to shampoos, shower gels and other products. Also employed as an emulsifier, softener and antistatic agent, widely applied in detergents, textile printing and dyeing, and plastics processing industries.
