Physical Properties:White to off-white crystalline powder; a semi-synthetic macrocyclic lactone insecticide with a molecular weight of about 886.1 (B1a). Freely soluble in acetone, xylene, methanol, ethanol and other organic solvents; slightly soluble in water; sparingly soluble in straight-chain alkanes. Stable under acidic conditions, easily hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions; unstable to light and prone to oxidative degradation on exposure.
Uses:Emamectin is a macrocyclic lactone insecticide/acaricide with broad-spectrum efficacy. It disrupts insect nerve transmission by stimulating the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), causing paralysis and death. It is used to control lepidopterous pests, leaf miners, thrips, mites and some coleopterous pests on vegetables, fruit trees, cotton, rice and tea. It exhibits contact and stomach action, with some penetrant activity and a long residual effect.
