Physical Properties:Colorless slightly viscous liquid with a mild aromatic odor. Boiling point 242°C, flash point 121°C, density 1.107 g/cm³ (20°C). Slightly soluble in water, readily soluble in ethanol, ether and acetone. It exhibits good chemical stability, resistance to acids and alkalis, and excellent biological stability, with resistance to microbial and enzymatic attack.
Uses:Used as a coating thickener and rheology modifier, suitable for low-odor, low-VOC coating systems; it improves compatibility, reduces equilibration time and prevents pigment re-agglomeration. It also serves as a preservative and antibacterial agent, widely applied in cosmetics, personal care products and water-based coatings. When used in combination with high-shear viscosity thickeners, it optimizes viscosity balance across different shear rates.
