Physical Properties:White to slightly yellow powder, soluble in water forming an acidic solution. It readily hydrolyzes in water to precipitate metatitanic acid. Upon heating, it decomposes at about 350°C to titanium dioxide and sulfur trioxide.
Uses:Used as mordant, catalyst and reducing agent. It is applied in the production of titanium dioxide and barium titanate, as well as in electroplating, surface treatment, textile dyeing and papermaking industries.
