Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform and other organic solvents. Weakly basic, reacts with acids to form salts.
Uses:Mainly used as an organic synthesis intermediate for the preparation of cationic surfactants, quaternary ammonium salts, antistatic agents, etc. Also used as a mineral flotation agent, fertilizer anti-caking agent, rubber auxiliary and pigment dispersant.
