Physical Properties:White crystalline powder with a slight halogen odor; melting point approx. 162–166 °C; slightly soluble in water; soluble in chloroform, acetone and other organic solvents. Slowly hydrolyzes in aqueous solution to release hypobromous and hypochlorous acids, exhibiting strong oxidizing biocidal activity.
Uses:A new broad-spectrum, high-efficiency disinfectant and water treatment biocide. It is suitable for industrial water treatment, recirculating cooling water, swimming pool disinfection and deodorization, as well as flower seed disinfection, fruit preservation and aquaculture. It effectively inhibits the growth of various bacteria, fungi and algae.
