Physical Properties:White powder or colorless hexagonal crystals, slightly soluble in water, soluble in glycerol, acids, and ammonium salt solutions, insoluble in alcohol. When heated to 580°C, it dehydrates to form calcium oxide. It is strongly alkaline and readily absorbs carbon dioxide from the air to form calcium carbonate. The aqueous solution is alkaline. Density: 2.24 g/cm³. Melting point: approximately 580°C (decomposition). Boiling point: approximately 2850°C (decomposition).
Uses:Used as a building material, chemical raw material, water treatment agent, and soil conditioner. It is also used in the production of bleaching powder, pesticides, rubber, plastics, coatings, and in the pharmaceutical industry.
