Physical Properties:Black or brownish-black powder with a relative density of approximately 5.0 g/cm³. It decomposes at 535°C, releasing oxygen. It is insoluble in water, nitric acid and dilute sulfuric acid, but dissolves in hydrochloric acid with the evolution of chlorine gas.
Uses:Mainly used as a coloring agent for glass and bricks, as well as a cathode material for dry batteries, a catalyst, an oxidant, and in the production of manganese salts and magnetic materials.
