Soluble in sodium hydroxide solution forming sodium thiophosphate; slightly soluble in carbon disulfide; insoluble in cold water; decomposes in hot water to produce phosphoric acid and hydrogen sulfide. Easily ignited by contact with flame or friction; converts oxygen-containing organic compounds into sulfur-containing compounds. Hygroscopic and toxic.
Uses:Used in organic synthesis, pesticides, matches, pharmaceuticals, rubber, ore flotation, lubricating oils and other industries, mainly as a sulfidizing agent and chemical raw material.
