Physical Properties:Dark brown powder; insoluble in water; soluble in sodium sulfide solution; forms a soluble leuco compound in alkaline reducing liquor and reverts to the insoluble form upon oxidation, becoming fixed on the fiber.
Uses:Mainly used for dyeing and shading of cellulose fibers such as cotton and viscose, as well as vinylon fiber, and also for leather dyeing. It is applied from an alkaline sodium sulfide reducing bath and developed by oxidation to produce fast brown dyeings.
