Physical Properties:White crystalline powder with a relative density of approximately 4.1-4.3. Insoluble in water, soluble in acids with decomposition releasing hydrogen sulfide gas. Exhibits good alkali resistance, light resistance, and heat resistance. Stable in air but slowly oxidizes upon prolonged exposure; decomposes when contacted with acids. High hiding power and whiteness with moderate oil absorption.
Uses:Lithopone is an important white pigment widely used in coatings, paints, and inks to provide excellent whiteness and hiding power. It is also used as a filler and colorant in plastics and rubber products, as well as in papermaking, enamel, and leather industries.
