Physical Properties:Green monoclinic crystals or crystalline powder. Readily soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Relatively stable in dry air; when heated, it first loses water of crystallization, and with further heating it decomposes, releasing toxic gases such as phosphine.
Uses:Mainly used as a reducing agent in electroless nickel plating, for metal surface treatment and in the electronics industry. It is also used in the preparation of nickel catalysts.
