Melting point approximately 80-82°C, boiling point approximately 290°C (decomposition), flash point approximately 152°C. Relative density approximately 1.24 g/cm³. Sparingly soluble in water, readily soluble in ethanol, benzene, chloroform, dimethylformamide and other organic solvents. Stable in air, readily decomposes upon contact with strong oxidants.
Uses:Mainly used as an excellent corrosion inhibitor and rust inhibitor for copper, copper alloys and other non-ferrous metals. Widely used in circulating cooling water treatment, metal working fluids, antifreeze formulations and rust-preventive lubricating oils, effectively inhibiting metal corrosion. Also serves as an organic synthesis intermediate for the preparation of fungicides, mildew preventives and fluorescent materials.
