Physical Properties:Lemon-yellow monoclinic columnar crystals or powder, odorless, with a slightly salty taste. Density 1.85 g/cm³ (20°C). The trihydrate loses crystal water at 70°C and decomposes above 400°C. Freely soluble in water (33.3 g/100 mL at 20°C), insoluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and other organic solvents. Stable at room temperature, reacts with strong acids and oxidants.
Uses:Used as an anti-caking agent for table salt, also applied in printing and dyeing as an oxidant, pigment preparation, steel carburizing and heat treatment, lithography, engraving, and as a chemical reagent.
