Physical Properties:Dark red to reddish brown powder, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and organic solvents. The aqueous solution is yellow to orange-red. Sensitive to light and heat; pH affects color, turns red with alkali and yellow with acid. Decomposes at about 186°C.
Uses:Mainly used as a coloring agent in food, beverages, health products and cosmetics, and also used in feed to enhance the color of egg yolk and animal skin. It has antioxidant and color-improving effects, and is also used as a natural pigment and functional factor in pharmaceuticals.
