Physical Properties:White to light yellow powder with a slight characteristic odor. Soluble in 10 times its weight of water, foaming to form a viscous liquid; aqueous solution is alkaline. Easily soluble in about 20 times its weight of ethanol, where it does not hydrolyze and remains neutral. Almost insoluble in ether, petroleum ether, and other organic solvents. Melting point about 232°C (decomposes). Molecular weight 304.44.
Uses:Used as an anionic surfactant, widely applied in mineral processing, fabric waterproofing, soap making, and other industries. In metal processing, it serves as a cooling lubricating emulsifier, synthetic fiber wetting agent and lubricant, as well as a steel ball surface cleaner and anticorrosion agent. It can also be used as a new material additive in the construction field.
