Sodium molybdate has high thermal stability; film formation requires dissolved oxygen but not calcium ions or other divalent metal ions. It has low toxicity and minimal environmental pollution.
Uses:Sodium molybdate is a new type of water treatment corrosion inhibitor, often used in combination with polyphosphates, gluconates, zinc salts, and benzotriazole, which significantly improves corrosion inhibition and reduces the dosage from 200~500mg/L to 4~6mg/L. It is suitable for circulating cooling water systems with high heat flux and localized overheating. It is also used as a precipitant for alkaloids, inks, fertilizers, molybdenum red pigments, and lightfast pigments, as well as in catalysts and the preparation of molybdenum salts.
