Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, acetone, toluene and other organic solvents.
Uses:Mainly used as an organic synthesis intermediate for the production of macrocyclic lactone fragrances (such as cyclopentadecanolide) and musk-type compounds; also used as a plasticizer, lubricant additive and raw material for polymer synthesis.
