It is a secondary long-chain amine with weak basicity and can form salts with acids. Melting point approximately 50-56°C, boiling point about 420°C, flash point >200°C.
Uses:Mainly used as an organic synthesis intermediate for the preparation of cationic surfactants, quaternary ammonium antistatic agents, fabric softeners and metal corrosion inhibitors. Also used as emulsifier, dispersant and lubricating grease additive.
