It belongs to the triazolinone class of herbicides and acts as an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor.
Uses:Used as a post-emergence herbicide mainly in wheat and other cereal crops to control broad-leaved weeds and some grass weeds, such as Galium aparine, Capsella bursa-pastoris, and Stellaria media. It inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS) activity in weeds, blocking the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, and isoleucine), which arrests weed growth and eventually kills the weeds. It features low application rates, long residual activity, and good crop safety.
