Physical Properties:White to off-white powder or granules with a slight characteristic odor. Freely soluble in water; the aqueous solution is neutral to slightly alkaline (pH of 1% solution approx. 5.5-7.5). As an anionic surfactant, it exhibits excellent foaming, foam stability, wetting and detergency properties, with good resistance to hard water. Decomposes at approximately 100°C.
Uses:Used as a mild anionic surfactant, widely applied as a foaming and cleansing agent in personal care products such as shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers and hand soaps. It is less irritating than conventional sodium lauryl sulfate, making it suitable for sensitive-skin and baby-care cleansing formulations. Also used in dentifrices, shaving foams and other oral-care and shaving products.
