Uses:Mainly used as a chromogenic substrate for α-galactosidase. Hydrolysis by the enzyme releases o-nitrophenol with a yellow color, allowing quantitative measurement by colorimetry at approximately 405 nm. It is also applied in glycosidase inhibitor screening, clinical biochemical testing, and glycobiology research.
