Readily soluble in ethanol, methanol, acetone and hot water; slightly soluble in cold water; sparingly soluble in ether.
Uses:It is an organic synthesis intermediate used to prepare sulfur-containing heterocyclic compounds and pharmaceutical intermediates. It is also used as a corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys in metal surface treatment, and as a brightening additive in electroplating.
