Decomposes violently upon contact with water or alcohols, releasing hydrogen bromide gas. Freely soluble in diethyl ether, dichloromethane and other organic solvents. Store sealed, dry and protected from light.
Uses:Mainly used in organic synthesis as an α-bromoacylating reagent and a raw material for ATRP (atom transfer radical polymerization) initiators. It is commonly applied in the synthesis of α-bromo esters, amides, and bromine-containing fine chemicals, as well as in the preparation of pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates.
