Physical Properties:Light yellow to amber transparent liquid with a slight thiol odor. Density: 1.06-1.10 g/cm³ at 25°C; flash point ≥100°C. Soluble in ethanol, acetone, toluene and other organic solvents; insoluble in water; slowly hydrolyzes in the presence of water.
Uses:Used as a silane coupling agent in the rubber industry, especially in silica-filled tire tread compounds. It improves filler dispersion, enhances the bonding between rubber and filler, and increases tire wear resistance and dynamic mechanical properties. It is also applied as a glass fiber surface treatment agent and in sealants and adhesives to improve interfacial adhesion of composite materials.
