Molecular Formula:C29H14N2O5
Physical Properties:Dark red powder, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, soluble in tetralin and xylene. Forms a blue leuco compound in alkaline sodium hydrosulfite reducing liquor, and can be re-oxidized to the parent dye in acidic media. Melting point above 300°C, with excellent light fastness and wash fastness.
Uses:Mainly used for dyeing and printing of cellulose fibers such as cotton and viscose, and can also be used for dyeing vinylon. It offers high exhaustion rate and excellent color fastness, suitable for vat dyeing processes from medium to deep shades.
