Uses:Cefixime active ester (methyl ester) is a key intermediate in the synthesis of cefixime, a third-generation oral cephalosporin. It is used to condense with 7-ACA (7-aminocephalosporanic acid) for the preparation of cefixime, and can also be applied in the synthesis of other cephalosporin antibiotics.
