Physical Properties:Dark blue powder. Insoluble in water, ethanol and acetone; dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid to produce a blue-green solution, and the blue solid precipitates upon dilution.
Uses:Mainly used for dyeing and printing of cotton fibers and their textiles, also applicable to viscose, silk, wool and vinylon-cotton blended fabrics. It is one of the important dyes for cotton cloth printing, often used in combination with Vat Red Violet RH and Vat Brown RRD to adjust the shade. The dyeings show essentially no shade change after finishing with urea-formaldehyde, cyanuric aldehyde or DMEU resins; with 2D resin the shade turns slightly red, and with BHES resin the shade turns greener and darker.
