Physical Properties:Light yellow flakes, granules or blocks of transparent solid; average molecular weight 500–1000; relative density 1.05; good oil solubility, soluble in toluene, cyclohexane, ethyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, dichloroethane, solvent naphtha and other organic solvents and vegetable oils, insoluble in ethanol and water; heat-resistant and aging-resistant.
Uses:Used as a tackifying resin for chloroprene adhesives to increase initial tack, improve bonding strength and durability; also used as a vulcanizing agent for butyl rubber. Grade 2402-3 is suitable for spot welding adhesives.
