Uses:ε-Polylysine is a broad-spectrum antibacterial biological preservative, showing significant inhibitory and killing effects against yeasts, Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria. It is used for food preservation and extending shelf life. It can be decomposed into the essential amino acid lysine in the human body, making it safer than other chemical preservatives. In addition, as a cationic polypeptide, it is also used as a drug carrier and superabsorbent polymer in medical and hygiene products.
