Readily soluble in organic solvents such as diethyl ether and tetrahydrofuran. Sensitive to water and air, decomposes upon contact with moisture to release hydrogen gas.
Uses:Primarily used as a reducing agent in electroless copper plating for printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing. Also serves as a mild reducing agent in organic synthesis including hydroboration, reductive amination, and hydroboration-oxidation reactions of olefins. Additionally used in pharmaceutical synthesis and preparation of fine chemical intermediates.
