Physical Properties:An organophosphonic acid scale and corrosion inhibitor, it can form stable complexes with various metal ions such as iron, copper, zinc, and dissolve oxides on metal surfaces. Appearance: colorless or light yellow transparent liquid (50%, 60% liquid) or white crystalline particles (solid). It still exhibits good corrosion and scale inhibition performance at 250°C, is stable at high pH, not easily hydrolyzed, and not easily decomposed under ordinary light and heat. Its acid/alkali resistance and chlorine oxidation resistance are better than other organophosphonic acids (salts). Relative molecular mass is 206.02. Density (20°C) ≥1.36 g/cm³ (50%) or ≥1.40 g/cm³ (60%); pH of 1% aqueous solution is 1.5-2.0.
Uses:Used as a scale and corrosion inhibitor in industrial water treatment, especially in circulating cooling water systems. Also used in cleaners for the electronics industry and as an additive in daily chemicals. It shows synergistic effects when compounded with other water treatment agents.
