Soluble in alcohol, ketone, hydrocarbon and other organic solvents; slowly hydrolyzes in the presence of water, releasing ethanol.
Uses:Used as a silane coupling agent and surface treatment agent, widely applied to improve interfacial bonding between inorganic fillers and organic polymers. It is used for hydrophobic treatment and modification of inorganic surfaces such as glass fiber, glass, and ceramics, enhancing water resistance, weather resistance, and mechanical strength of materials. It is also commonly used in coatings, adhesives, and sealants as an adhesion promoter and crosslinking agent.
