Physical Properties:Colorless to slightly yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, strongly alkaline, easily soluble in water and miscible with water in any ratio. Relative density (20°C) is about 1.10–1.30 g/cm³, pH value of 1% aqueous solution is about 11–13, non-flammable, with good permeability and adhesion to substrates.
Uses:Mainly used for surface waterproofing treatment of building materials such as stone, brick, tile, ceramics, concrete, cement mortar, perlite, gypsum, gypsum board, and wood, imparting excellent hydrophobicity, water repellency, anti-fouling, and weather resistance to the substrate. It can also be used as an additive to water glass to improve its waterproofing performance and stability.
